a brief history

Scott Tackle was founded in the early fifties by Bert Scott.

Bert began to wind down in 1970 and retired in 1975.  Bert enjoyed a few years fishing before his untimely death in 1981.

As some of you older anglers may know, Bert and his best pal Bob Monks were two of the founders of the Portcullis AA, which went on to become one of the best clubs in the region and a founder member of the Amalgamation.

Bert was also a very accomplished river angler and very well known for his big catches of roach using malt as bait.

After working for Bert for a few years, Richard Croker and Peter Kent became the owners of the business and are still here today.
